Eisenbass

 

Der Eisenbass besteht aus einer zum Halbkreis gebogenen Stahlplatte, auf die eine Kontrabasssaite gespannt ist. Diese kann mit einem Bogen gestrichen, gezupft, geschlagen etc. werden. Unter der Saite ist ein eisernes Griffbrett zur Intonation angebracht. Durch die Krümmung der Platte werden Gesang und Instrument verhallt, so dass eine akustische Einheit entsteht. Da auf dem Griffbrett Noten sauber intoniert werden können, sind harmonische Sessions mit anderen Musikern möglich.

Ironbass is a steel plate bent to a halfpipe with a double bass string fixed to it. This string can be bowed, plucked, knocked on ... Under the string is a piece of metal rail as a fingerboard for intonation. The plate being bent gives voice and sound a great reverb which melts voice and sound to an acoustic unit. Being able to play notes on the fingerboard it is possible to have harmonic jamsessions with other musicians.
